Sorry it has been too long since my last entry but this has been such a busy month. At the end of each day I’m sure you can relate …..I’m just so dead tired that my journal is always put off for later. That is not good for those of you who are following what a juice feast is like. I will say that i have had some solid foods in my mouth only to see if the seasoning is correct and then I would spit it out. When you are cooking vegan for a family of 4 I think it only polite to make sure it is prepared correctly. Thank goodness I’m pretty confident with most of my cooked-vegan meals.
Today was another regular freshed squeezed lemon in warm distilled water first thing in the morning. I had some oranges that were showing some age so I juiced those (about 6 ) around 10 am and didn’t want anything but cold fresh lemon water for ice until about 3:00 pm. I decided to make a quart of carrot/beets and the tops/cucumber juice. I know people think that juicing is such a hassle but for me it is definitely worth it. I just keep reminding myself I need these nutrients in my body. I don’t believe in synthetic vitamins and/or minerals. I do know if you elect to get everything you need nutrient wise from a plant you can assimilate much quicker and more thoroughly.
Now tonight I didn’t juice anymore, what I decided to drink instead was my homemade KOMBUCHA…I had one of my favorite flavors (strawberry) and it was so refreshing. It is a natural symbiotic (probiotic) cultured drink made from Japanese green tea. I make it myself and anyone could. It has a slightly tart taste and mine has lots of effervesence. That is one of the main reasons I like it. I flavor mine with fresh or frozen organic fruits so that I have a variety. The most important thing about it is that it is so good for you and refreshing to drink. It is just another juice option. I do think I’m going to make the next batch include grapefruit and raw ginger………..Oh I fogot to mention another 2 lbs. down…….and exercise is so much easier …I love it..I’m lighter and the juices (esp. carrot/spinach ) give me more energy!
