There are certain contraindications (a condition or factor that increases risk) with colon hydrotherapy:
- Congestive heart failure
- Intestinal perforation
- Carcinoma of the rectum
- Fissures or fistula
- Severe (continual bleeding) hemorrhoids
- Abdominal hernia
- Renal insufficiency
- Recent colon or rectal surgery
- Abdominal surgery
- First and last trimester of pregnancy
- Cirrhosis
So long as none of the above conditions apply to you, colon hydrotherapy is safe and effective for the purpose of the evacuation of the large intestines. Medical indications for use of Colon Hydrotherapy include constipation or fecal impaction, endoscopic or x-ray/radiological examination and or otherwise described by your physician.
