60 Day Raw Juice Feast Part 5

Last weekend was very long and hard but I knew I wouldn’t have enough time to juice a lot because I decided to put up 60+ quarts of cultured veggies. Making these cultured veggies is so time consuming that I had to prepare to have quick juices on hand. One of my favorite quick juices is whole coconut water. I ran around town the day before and gathered as many whole coconuts I could find. I use my screw driver and a hammer to punch a hole in the side of these whole coconut and then just stick a straw in it…….. there you have it…………a great tasting juice! This juice just so happens to have almost the same make-up as human hemoglobin. The only difference is our hemoglobin has an iron molecule whereas coconut water has a magnesium molecule. Anyway it is a wonderful drink that holds you over for a long time. I was sooo … busy making the cultured veggies that in between the eight coconuts I bought for the weekend I drank fresh lemon and distilled water.

I am dropping about 1 lb. a day now and I am down 12 lbs in all. I try not to put too much emphasis on how much weight I lose but more on how healthy I feel and how much energy I have and definitely how HAPPY I am every day.

Today it was so refreshing to get a long colonic ( 2 hrs). I felt a little constipated because now most of my bowel movements are mostly liquid. Sometimes I feel like I have to have a movement, but because I have no fiber in this feast it is easy to feel that way. I was surprised how much I was still releasing and how much is still formed this far into the juice feast.

I was thinking that tomorrow I will try to have mostly veggie juice and no fruit. It is all about getting a wide variety of nutrients. I was also thinking that if I wanted to go into a complete water fast it would be easy at this moment of the feast. I no longer have any cravings and don’t really think about food like I used to. Drinking enough fluids is very important at this point because now my kidney cells will be cleaning house.

60 Day Raw Juice Feast Part 4

My last journal was almost 6 days ago…..sorry…..life just catches up with you.

A lot has happened since my last journal. I decided to do a FRUIT JUICE SLUSHY DAY! OMG…when I juiced Granny Smith apples, lemons and wheatgrass together it was great, but when I juiced them and then put it all in a blender with a large amount of distilled ice cubes………it was a heavenly slushy. It took me practically all day long since I was sucking on slushy sweet wheatgrass ice to just finish one quart of that juice. Later that night, I juiced fresh oranges, grapes and pineapple to make another wonderful sweet frozen concoction…..by that time my mouth had enough coldness. I highly recommend if you are doing an all juice feast to mix it up somedays and make it fun and simple like that.

Well it has been ll days so for and I have lost 7 lbs…I took some gragh paper to track my weightloss over the 60 day period. It is quite fun to see the progress on paper and it is also important to have information like that to reference later in life, like maybe if I should visit another juice feast next year.

As the days go by I can tell a huge difference in my energy level in fact I have almost too much energy. Most the time this is good for throughout the day, but when I want to sleep longer in the morning I’m finding I cannot..I’m simply beaming with too much energy. Make note of this if you do try an all juice freast: NEVER DRINK ANY LIVING JUICES PRIOR TO 3 HOURS BEFORE BED! What happens is that you are wide awake..you have just loaded your bloodstream with lots of active enzymes that are buzzing and fueling your cells with energy. Maybe I’ll make a gragh of my exercising…..for a person who doesn’t exercise that would be an accomplishment. It may even be smart to track which juices actually give my system the most energy 15 minutes before I exercise. Fruit juices are definitely some of the highest

Speaking of energy…and there is a lot!, I’m not an exerciser and I’m not too proud of that but since juicing I’m starting to feel like I actually WANT to exercise to burn off some of this unused energy. I remember this happening to me the first time I went on a juice feast. It was the amount of energy not the weightloss that astonished me the most.

60 Day Raw Juice Feast Part 3

Yesterday was a complete fruit juice day. There are so many great fruits in season like watermelon! I loveto juice the white part of the watermelon because it is loaded with antioxidants and has sort of a cooling effect on my skin after i drink it. I’ll have to admit when I cut the melon open, I really wanted to take a big bite of that sweet juicy fruit and I did…..I just spit out the pulp (which wasn’t much) duh…watermelon. Some days on a long juice feast you’ll just want all fruit juices and I was loving my fruit day. Later on around 1:00 in the afternoon I peeled about 4 large pink grapefruits and juiced those with about a thumb-sized hunk of raw ginger( I think that is my favorite refreshing fruit drink! The ginger is great for killing any parasites you may not know about……I think that is why they always serve it with sushi. It is still early in this juice feast and I want to stay close to at least a gallon of liquids a day. I probably had 3 qt of pure fruit juice yesterday and in between I drank my distilled water plus the kombucha I make, and let me tell you that can be a life-saver when you want some thing quick and convenient.

Today I decided that I would have purely veggie juice especially since my dear sister brought me a boat load of organic cucumbers, tomatoes and green peppers from her wonderful garden. I’m looking at all these tomatoes and thinking ‘what am i going to do with all these’. I decided to make my version a V-8 juice. Now I like my V-8 juice sorta spicy and a little on the salty side. I used carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, and celery. I gave it some heat with a little cumin, white pepper and cayenne and sea salt. I made it look just like a Bloody Mary, and boy it tasted like one minus the vodka.

Now most of my veggie juices I make a point of chewing ( as if I was chewing an apple), but if the juice contains any acids like the tomato, orange, lemon/lime or even pineapple I don’t chew. I’ll slowly savor the taste as I drink them. I know it sound silly to chew a juice, but it is very important to release the digestive juices from all the glands located in your alimentary tract. This way you know you are doing everything you need to allow the nutrients to be absorbed. Vibrant health is only achieved from proper nutrient assimilation.

60 Day Raw Juice Feast Part 2

It was a rough weekend…last of the holiday visitors…..but I was expecting it, and I gave a little more effort on my part to get through it without deviating from my juicing.. What I mean to say, is that I envisioned myself in every situation where I would be weak…..but I prepared for it by taking care of myself first before I served others.

For example, my sister came to visit and she and her husband expected to eat a certain way and have certain things that they like. This was not a problem at all. When they wanted waffles with scrambled eggs in the ;morning and I’m juicing……I am NO. 1…….my juicing comes first before I help prepare any food for anyone else. This of course stops me from wanting to taste or even indulge in any dead foods. I immediately feed my cells …I gain more energy with what I drink and then I carry on to help others.

Unfortunately, this happened to be the one weekend where I started to feel like I had THAT HAIRY TONGUE! From my past juice feasts, I secretly was very happy to achieve this first level of detox. During this time it doesn’t matter how much you drink or how many times you brush your tongue…………toxins are being released through the tongue at an excellerated rate. You’ll find that the toxins will be released much quicker than your immune system is comfortable at getting rid of them. You’ll havebad breath( tongue), urinate frequently(kidneys) , become somewhat constipated/ and or have liquid stools, the skin sometimes turns yellow (bile) from liver cleansing itself. Your skin is your largest organ and when you are doing some GOOD housecleansing it will flush some of the bile salts through. I kept looking for these signs of detoxifacation and welcomed it.

It is my third full day of the juice feast and I fully expect to have no excitotoxin cravings soon. If you can stay completely raw for three solid days……it will be smooth sailing from that point forward.

I love to sleep during these deep cellular cleanses….I have intense vivid dreams….and I know it is because I am feeding my brain cells….like never before. It is also like a personal Christmas every morning when I wake up. I have given myself a small present of another pound of toxic fat release from my cells………and I’M HAPPY!

60 Day Raw Juice Feast Part 1

This juice feast will be very similar to the one I did for 80 days last year from August to October (2009) which was nothing short of AMAZING! I’ve decided it is important to detoxify thoroughly at least once yearly. It will help dump the endogenous waste stored in the cells (especially the fat cells), balance the blood stream and restore energy in my body.

I will journal daily what juices I make throughout the days and what physical and mental changes and/or challenges occur.

Well September 4th finally arrived and what a beautiful morning it was to get up early and go to the local farmer’s market. I was not really that hungry when I woke up, so I did my usual and squeezed some fresh lemon into some warm distilled water to get my kidneys cleansed. I’ve decided everyday at the very least I would have warm lemon water in the morning, mid-morning (1 quart of carrot , beet and cucumber), and for the evening juice ( 1 quart carrot, spinach) which btw is a virtual weight loss drink. I was super lucky this morning as I was able to find some rather large organic cucumbers at the market.

I know from experience that when one starts a juice feast or is drinking their nutrients it is very important to start out by taking in at least 1 gallon of fluids a day. Like today, so far I had 16oz. of warm lemon water, 1 Qt. of fresh grapefruit /raw ginger juice, plus 1 Qt.carrot/beet/cucumber and 1 Qt.carrot/spinach. The last 16oz. cold distilled water with freshly squeezed lemon juice. This rounds out to at least 1 gallon of fluids that will keep my kidneys and bloodstream clean and balanced. The nutrient level of this quantity of juice will also help satisfy any strong cravings you may have especially during the first three days of the feast. In the evening I like to end with another cup of warm distilled water with freshly squeezed lemon.
